creative and entertaining

4.25 stars "Time is money". That's where this story shines. I mean sure, it's horrible that people harm other people to take their blood for consumption and for money(blood=time and time=money), but that's what makes the book stand out. It's such a great concept!(That doesn't sound sadistic, does it?) This book definitely isn't perfect. The 4 stars comes from just my enjoyment of it. It had a pretty decent amount of flaws. There were issues with the writing, amongst other things, but my main issue was that the characters weren't that well developed. The MC, Jules, had decent judgement and an ok personality, but I just couldn't feel a connection towards her. I thought there would be more depth to Roan's character too, other than him being the guy the MC was infatuated with. The love triangle was just meh. I realize this is sounding more like a bad review, but the actual plot and world-building was great, and I finished the book in one sitting. It's flawed, but will get you hooked a few pages through. Overall, it's hard to put down and I would recommend.

Got to love the twists and turns of this series

That was some messed up twists in this book. I got it all wrong. Like way wrong!! I was not prepared for how twisty this book would become. And honestly was not expecting Jules to be what she was. I couldn't even figure it fully out as the whole thing was unraveling right in front of me. It's usually hard to shock me, but this book definitely put me in the confused and what is going in place. I literally am sitting here thinking what did I just read? So good. And completely different type of story. I was just not prepared for those twists. Here it's 2 am and all I want to do is pick up the next book because I need to know what happens asap! But I need sleep
