Wreak of perfume

I loved the pajamas. They are soft and cozy. I have a problem with the packaging. Inside was a paper sample of Ralph Loren fragrance and the tab had been opened. The pajamas wreak of perfume. I am hoping it will come out in the wash and wondering why they put it in the pajama packaging.
