40th anniv Diamond fell out!

my husband proposed at Disneyland after 40 years. a week later a Diamond fell out and they won't let me exchange or return.. we don't have much and I didn't have a wedding ring. I can't believe macys would do this. this is not ok. If anyone at macys can help please someone notify me.
