Nice Quality, But Keep Your Fingers Crossed...

This is a great looking bracelet and when it went on sale in December, I bought along with the matching earrings. The quality of the earrings and the bracelet are excellent. However, getting them was an ordeal. I ordered them on time for Christmas, but I got an email saying they would be delayed. The shipment with the bracelet and the earrings arrived on January 5th, but the bracelet wasn't in the shipment. The packing slip had an orange highlight on the bracelet, and when I looked at my account online, it showed that the earrings were delivered, and the bracelet was delayed to January 8th. When that date came and went, I called customer service and they said yup, the bracelet had not been shipped, but it would ship in three days. They gave me a discount code (which, as you know, doesn't work on 95% of Macy's merch). It didn't ship in three days and I called them again. This was a Christmas present and they recipient had been waiting since then. The new customer service rep told me that that she read all the notes and she would put in an "exception." She said it would ship and be received by January 26th. Well, the bracelet came on the 16th. There was a packing slip with some "Verified" stamps that weren't in the original shipment. That made me feel like they thought I was lying. I love Macy's and have been a long time customer. Their merchandise is high quality, but stuff like this makes me leery of ordering online. The jewelry, the rep told me, ships from the vendor--not from Macy's. It's dangerous to put your company's reputation in the hands of third party companies that could care less. But that's why companies go down the tubes and are out of business. The top management doesn't ever see the process through the eyes of their (soon to be ex) customers.
