Darker than expected...not light brown as describe

Unfortunately these do not live up to the picture on the website. They are described as light brown, but are more of a dark mahogany brown the entire way (more like toe tip color in picture). Though the fresh leather smell is always luxurious, I’m unsettled on whether the quality of the embossing is okay or cheapens it. I think if it had color variation/distressed look as pictured, it’d be great. Unfortunately likely to return these as they’re two whole thumb-widths too big at toe (tried with tights only). I’d suggest ordering your true size, or half a size down, as these run big. (I ordered an 8 based on a previous Frye boot I own in my true size 7.5 being a touch snug.) Also of note is the very thick sole, and stiff leather which cuts in just under ankle bone. Still on the fence if I can make these work, as I was looking for a fun light brown!
