Not able to assembly

Cheaply made! This item was selected by my 12 year old son for his Christmas present. He was excited to assemble it and rearrange his room. Right out of the box to follow the first instruction (without words I must add…only pictures) the iron pieces 3 and 4 were bent and we could not put the shelf of the headboard together. The instructions state to email, not call, the company. The email is not professional appearing, it is service2003@yeah.net. Sketchy…. I ended up calling Macys who, initially routes me to a person in another country who asked for a ticket or slip number that I didn’t have on my purchase email. She asked me twice for that information before finally transferring me to someone in the states that spoke English and understood my issue. The whole situation was off putting. We were in a festive mood to put together my son’s present and had to stop because the production was defective.
