How does this stuff even get on the market

Bolts and their target holes are literally 8" apart. SERIOUSLY. Building this was a nightmare - and we ended up with parts that didn't connect.... so I'll be building wooden shims to hold up the frame, since the way it was designed (and delivered) doesn't do the job. The instructions were - as usual - horrific. Impossible to follow. Awful. Why I kept it is beyond explanation. NEVER AGAIN.

A 6 hour assembly nightmare

POINTER: if you buy this thing, go to the hardware store and buy a hex-bit that matches the crummy bent piece of metal they include for building this amazingly difficult-to-assemble bed. You can move the bit back and forth between a suitable hand-held driver - or a power drill. Much better than the bloody fingers I got struggling with this nightmare. There are multiple places where the parts simply will not go together. The directions are awful - maybe the worst I've ever seen. The diagonal braces at the foot of the bed that make the bed toe-stub proof don't fit. Don't even get close. I struggled for 90 minutes and said forget it - I'm moving on. The thing eventually came together (including the previously mentioned other parts that didn't assemble properly). The finished product looks fine and will probably hold up - although I can tell it's going to need regular tightening, meaning take the mattress off, get a helper to lift the frame, and get under it and start working HARD.
