Dear Garmin I just bought the Fenix 7 Solar Pro. But my review is about the S40 Approach I bought last year. I received and registered it in February 2023. About 5 months ago my S40 started playing up and the battery just stated dying on me... initially would barely last a round.. and since 2 months ago , not even half an hour!!! However I did like the Approach, and saw that you had a solar Fenix with much longer batter life offered with many other options and have just picked up this fenix solar 7 pro .. will review it in a few months. GARMIN, PLEASE ADVISE ME WHAT I CAN DO WITH MY 2023 S40 APPROACH??

Watch face is not bright enough.
Watch face not bright enough. I can't see the numbers very well without pressing the button.

Watch Freezes
The watch freezes and wont advance to the next hole. Even when I advance it manually it wont go after I advanced it.

Superb customer support
I bought my s40 2 years ago but it stopped working a week ago. A quick chat with the support team on line and I was sent a brand new replacement without any fuss. The watch is all You’d ever need on the course and the customer service from Garmin is second to none.

Hard to use while playing
There are some features I like -- particularly how far you have hit each shot. But trying to use that feature while playing is somewhat difficult. In my case, when I go to hit the club I used it often uses the wrong club (clumsy finger?). And then you have to use the app to correct those clubs (assuming you can remember what club you used). Also, just today, the watch kept vibrating telling me my phone was disconnected?? I never connected it so I don't know what is happening. But it was very annoying trying to play with the vibration. In conclusion I feel the watch has not lived up to my expectations.

New purchase
HI just bought the S40 and cant wait to try it out on a golf course,watch looks nice and hope it will meet my expectations ,my only problem is with the watch strap its very rubbery and hard to inset in the 2 little rubber bands,I wish there was an extra watch strap easier to use
