Very pretty but fit and feel are wrong

I'm really disappointed in these shoes and am returning them. They're very pretty but the fit is just not right. I'm normally a 10 with wider (but not a true wide) feet, so I sized up to 10.5 and the width was fine, but they are almost too short, so they seem to run pretty small. When walking around, they don't hold your foot, so it lifts a lot from the shoe as you walk, which is annoying and makes them feel unstable. They're also just not very comfortable - I thought the footbed would be softer, eg. On the plus side, I have long toes, so I did not have the problem of my pinky toe slipping out of the straps.
