why do I keep buying

okay I bought some solar lanterns from Macy's a while back and one of them did not go on or I would have to hit it a couple times where to start it was in bright enough. I put in a return but it's such a hassle to return so I ended up not even doing that. now I bought these white metal things they're smaller than I thought but that's okay. I put them out in the sun for at least 24 hours I didn't turn them on yet until tonight and one of them is nice and bright and the other one not. it doesn't even go on so I went and tapped it and it went on I went and turned on and off and it stopped going on and now it's on but it's so dim and it went off again. I just want another one that will match the one that is working. I don't want to go through the hassle of returning this because I need it for a party. these things are expensive and I don't understand why they can't work when they're supposed to work.
