Jack of all trades…

…master of none. The pan is versatile, but not the most ideal tool, for many cooking situations. Touted as “A combination of a skillet and a sauté pan…” (hestanculinary. com, 2026), Hestan’s Titanium Essentials Pan does not really perform well as both. The rounded, reduced flat cooking surface area decreases the space in which to fry, sear, or brown meats, while the taller sides (when compared to a traditional sauté pan) make it harder to turn foods. Don’t get me wrong, the “pan” can operate in the same battle space of a skillet and sauté pan, it just isn’t as efficient or effective. This item appears and thrives more a saucier. If marketed as such, it would be more honest to the tool’s nature and purpose. Thus, expectations an my review would reflect this. The overall build and materials were of good quality. While only limited in my testing of the the nano bond’s durability, it seems to hold up well. Though, it does show rainbow stains much easier than traditional stainless steel. The handle is middle of the road in terms of comfort. There are other brands with more ergonomic and comfortable handles…and also those with much worse (see All-Clad’s traditional handles). During long cooks, I did note the handle also got heated, to the point one does need a towel to safely hold. As a whole, this is not one pan to rule them all. It has a place but definitely is not a good replacement option for a sauté pan or skillet.

Christmas Gift

Having purchased a set of Nano Bond cookware several months ago, my wife and I have put it through the rigors. It has excelled in all manners, and superseded all of our other / previous cookware as our favorite. Lighter than our Demeyere, browns, heats and cleans like a dream. So this year, I sent the Nano Bond Essential Pan to a close friend as a Christmas gift. He and his wife love to cook as much as we do, so it was a great gift! He has shared extremely positive comments with me and has talked about adding more pieces. Wife and I will continue to add more Nano Bond cookware to our kitchen and I'm looking forward to adding bakeware as well. Thank you for such great cookware.

Best Pan Ever

This pan is the best. I was gifted this pan and now use it every day, often multiple times a day, for almost everything. It heats evenly, cleans up easily, and is incredibly well made. Hands down the best pan I’ve ever owned, and I’ll definitely be adding more titanium cookware to my kitchen.
