Very nice!

Everything works good, but the battery is pathetic even after I adjusted all the system settings to use minimal battery resources! Up to 8hrs battery life? Far from it!

Warm and Hot

I'm not an avid gamer, so I think that it works well for it's purpose. The battery life is short (I usually keep it plugged in). Also, it tends to run hot.

Great laptop with only minor issues

Love it. I had many gaming laptops, both cheaper and more expensive ones, and this one I believe is the really really good for its price. First, build quality is good. No flexing under pressure, no bending, anything. Good quality plastic build, no issues. Secondly, my 4060 configuration is great, the laptop is way quieter than I came to expect from gaming laptops and the fan noise is a pleasant woosh, not high pitched noise. The screen is acceptable, the refresh rate is great, contrast good, but there's a bit of light bleed and I don't think there's variable refresh rate. The keyboard is nice for my needs. It's performance is right where it should be for the configuration. I love the fact that you can charge it from the USB port for up to 100w, and that there's no heat exhaust on the right side where your hand would be, so no hot air on your gaming mouse. The laptop can be easily opened and upgraded, but mine came with a terrible mediatek wifi card which I had to replace with Intel ax210. Sadly, AMD laptops come with only one ssd slot. The main issue I have with the laptop is that both USB and hdmi ports are on the right side, and they really should be away from your gaming hand vicinity; and that you cannot open the laptop with one hand, you definitely need two. I was also not happy with the terrible WiFi mediatek card. Except for those minor issues, I find the laptop amazing, especially for the price. Would I buy it again? Yes. Definitely.

The HP Victus 16.1 Gaming Laptop is a Gem

The HP Victus 16.1 Gaming Laptop has Amazing Functionality and Portability. The Victus laptop has a numeric pad that I can use for easy entry of spreadsheet data or mathematic computations, and the numeric pad has a dedicated key for the calculator, which is very handy. The size of the laptop makes it more portable than the larger 17-inch laptops, and the lighter materials that were used in the build of this laptop (i.e. the use of more plastic than metal) make it easier to carry. I like the customization options for the Victus line that lets you choose different colors (I chose white). The higher specs that I opted for also make it twice more powerful than my previous gaming laptop and was purchased at less than half the price that I purchased my last gaming laptop (granted I purchased this Victus laptop during a special sale). The laptop is pre-programed for the easy use of HyperX Headphones, to plug in the wireless USB for the headphones and instantly use them (without needing to manually change the audio output and microphone input from the system settings). The Victus laptop has a dedicated key to the Omen Gaming Hub, which is very useful tool for organizing and optimizing your laptop's games; the gaming hub also provides information on your computer's performance anytime during the laptop's use, even during laptop gaming, by providing a hotkey for making the performance gauges of the laptop's hardware appear for viewing. The Omen Gaming Hub also has a shortcut to the Fanatical Gaming Store that provides discounted prices for games provided through the Steam Game Store or the Xbox Game Store. The Omen Gaming Hub also notifies you of hardware deals from HyperX that may be of interest. Finally, the Omen Gaming Hub is also the program to change the backlight function and color of your keyboard; since my laptop is white-colored, I really appreciate changing the backlight of my keyboard from white to a different color that I want.

Nice gaming laptop - I'm happy

the keyboard feels awkward, the touchpad is offset from the keyboard home row, takes some getting use to. The numeric keypad is not needed. Sound needs more volume, display needs to be brighter. Altogether, it's still a nice gaming laptop and plays my games fine. I did have to do a clean windows reload because of an error. This seems to have made the screen brighter now. There may have been some graphics drivers conflicts

Good mid range gaming laptop

Bought this for my kids to use as they are growing into PC gaming. So far they are really enjoying it. It runs everything they have tried without any issues. Upgraded to a faster 2TB ssd for more space. The design looks and feels pretty solid, and the 16.1 inch screen is nice and clear.
