My robot will not charge when it is returned to the charging station. It worked great the first little while and after a few months it will not charge correctly.

Stopped returning to charger.
I love this Roomba, and don't want to be without one, but after using it for several months, I agree with a lot of the other reviews. It just won't return to the Home base Charger correctly. It takes me a while of trying to line it up to charge, which is very frustrating. I have cleaned the the metal contacts on the charger itself as well as the on the Roomba and it still has a hard time getting back there. I'm not sure if another model would do better, or a different brand of robot vacuum. But I do think there may be a flaw in this model.

THE CHARHING IS A NIGHTMARE! SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING!
The first couple of months the vacuum worked well, and then like 6 months after I bought this vacuum it started malfunctioning when it was time to charge. It does not return properly to the charging base, so it does not charge. Everytime I try yo use the vacuum it's so frustrating because the vacuum is not charged, so I have to move and move the roomba around the charging dock until it finally starts charging. The battery is always dead when I try to turn it on. I contacted iRobot and cleaned the ports as you told me, but this did not work. I am very frustrated because my roomba used to turn on every morning at 9am with no issue at all (the only thing I had to do was empty the bin every night) and know it's a nightmare to get it to turn on everyday if it even turns on. I made so much research before buying this product and I finally bought this one because it was a great match for my house as i have pets, but know i'm disappointed and feel like i threw my money away. Thought it was too good to be true - I was dead wrong!
I assumed that a small vacuum would lack the ability to produce enough suction to actually make a difference. I was wrong. I am absolutely astonished each time I clean the bin of this vacuum. It just works. Alone. I don't even have to watch. Utterly amazing. I can only imagine that many of the negative reviews are either due to misuse, abuse or user error. It's just so simple to use and the machine is very good quality. I bought three of them. If you have been skeptical, hesitant or doubt this product but want it, go ahead and get it. You won't be disappointed. But please, read the manual and learn to disassemble and clean the vacuum properly and but lots of extra filters, extractors and brushes to keep everything in top working order.

Charging/battery defective - no help from customer service
The robot cleans well when it's charged enough to, but it NEVER returns to the charging base properly. It pretends to but isn't actually charging, meaning the battery is dead literally every time you go to use it. I spoke to customer support and they told me the contacts were dirty, so I cleaned them and it helped for one clean. So you essentially have to clean the contacts every single time if you want it to work properly. Frustrating product, quicker to vacuum yourself. the second time leaving this review. The first was deleted after someone said they would contact me, but didn't.

A "Find Me!" command - like ringing a lost cell phone would be ***WONDERFUL*** We spend too much time searching for Roomba....
