The first in a spicy and unforgettable rom-com duology from #1 New York Times bestseller and tik tok favorite Tessa Bailey, in which a Hollywood "It Girl" is cut off from her wealthy family and exiled to a small Pacific Northwest beach town... where she butts heads with a surly, sexy local who thinks she doesn't belong. Piper Bellinger is fashionable, influential, and her reputation as a wild child means the paparazzi are constantly on her heels. When too much champagne and an out-of-control rooftop party lands Piper in the slammer, her stepfather decides enough is enough. So he cuts her off, and sends Piper and her sister to learn some responsibility running their late father's dive bar... in Washington. Piper hasn't even been in Westport for five minutes when she meets big, bearded sea captain Brendan, who thinks she won't last a week outside of Beverly Hills. So what if Piper can't do math, and the idea of sleeping in a shabby apartment with bunk beds gives her hives. How bad could it really be? She's determined to show her stepfather—and the hot, grumpy local—that she's more than a pretty face. Except it's a small town and everywhere she turns, she bumps into Brendan. The fun-loving socialite and the gruff fisherman are polar opposites, but there's an undeniable attraction simmering between them.

Average Summer Romance

This is my first Tessa Bailey book, and I wanted to like it more than I did. I like the storyline well enough, but the characters weren't as likable as I would have liked them to be. Many Romances include some private joke between the two characters, but this one was a bit too repetitive and didn't bring as much warmth to me as I was reading it as I wanted it to. I did like the depth of the sister, and I would have liked to know more about her story and how she evolves following this story. It does make me want to check out the second book in the series that revolves around her. This is a good Summer book, and is pretty highly rated otherwise. It's not necessarily my favorite, but I would recommend checking it out still if you're looking for a good Summer romance.

Cute book

Over all it’s a cute story. I found it hard to relate to the main character, a trust-fund, spoiled Hollywood type girl isn’t someone I really want to invest in. Having said that the book took me awhile to get into but once it did get into it, it was a cute romance book.

OBSESSED

All the hype delivers. Tessa Bailey doesn't disappoint. I keep referring to this series as a grown-up "Cowbelles". Two sisters, banished to a fishing town, to learn the value of a dollar? LOVE LOVE LOVE Tessa Bailey really delivered with this series. they are SO much fun. The characters are fun, the love interests are perfect book boyfriend material and I could not put it down. (I actually read it on a plane and was blushing away the whole time). 5/5 Stars. Bought a physical copy, and will be re-reading.

3.5 stars rounded up.

New drinking game: take a shot every time Piper describes Brendan as being "male." (We get it already.) This book had some things I didn't like but overall the storyline was solid and it really was a cute romance.

No Alexis Rose

I couldn’t get into this one. I liked Piper’s character arc, but Brendan was a jerk and the plot felt cobbled together. YMMV.

Loved This!

I really enjoyed this, more than I thought I would! I loved the relationship dynamic between Brenden and Piper, it reminded me of my own relationship. The way he loved her and took care of her made me melt.
