I’m a big JM fan. I have this cap toe in black and brown. The laces wore out on the black pair after a year or two of moderate wear. BTW, I also have the Melton Tassel in black and brown. Great shoes, the lace durability was disappointing.

Pretty good for the money.
I bought a pair of Meltons in burgundy about 14 years ago. They held up pretty well and I had them resoled once. Problem was the finish wore off them over time. I've seem other reviewers say they were "corrected leather". Eventually they developed a crack. Fast forward and I recently ordered a new pair in tan. The outer leather seems higher quality than my last pair and they've slimmed them down a bit which I like. Looks like a 270 degree welt which is fine. There are some dark smudges on the leather likely from the factory which is annoying but for the price point I think these shoes are a good deal.

Solid dress shoes in cordovan color
Wonderful dress shoes, I love the dark cordovan color.

Great shoes
The fit is good and they are comfortable, but the sole is extremely stiff.

Most uncomfortable shoes I've ever worn in my life. I wore them to work and was bleeding through my socks by lunch.

Quality Has Gone Down
When I was twelve years old my father bought me my first pair of dress shoes and this is the pair he bought me. I'm now approaching 30 and have bought the same pair time and time again (in each color) and they have been my go-to work shoes as they look amazing with a pair of dress pants. However, I recently bought a new black pair and I am really disappointed with the quality. The heel seems to be the way in which they cut a corner as they no longer have that distinct "click-clack" sound when I walk. They also seem to be deteriorating faster as the sole is beginning to come off. Even the leather feels "cheaper." I love the way this shoe used to be made and I would have gladly paid more to get the same good-quality shoes of years past. This, however, is in an extreme disappointment. As the old adage goes, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Fits me perfectly
These shoes fit me perfectly and are reasonably priced. If Allen Edmonds are too tight in the middle of your foot and too loose at the heel, then this might fit your perfectly too.

Great shoe!
Love these, very comfortable from the start and become even more comfortable as they form to your feet.
