Well Made But Uncomfortable

I have several pairs of Johnston Murphy shoes including other similar loafers and have found them all to be extremely comfortable. I consider comfort to be a hallmark of the brand, so with confidence, I ordered these online without trying them on in a store first. Well that turned out to be a mistake. While these are very well made and fit true to size, they really are not at all comfortable. Hopefully, they will break in and get better with time, but compared to other Johnston Murphy shoes, these are a bit of a disappointment.

Penny Loafers

What happened to the Aristocraft Series? Ski Moc? I have been buy in your shoes exclusively since 1981and have been 100% satisfied with the quality. It seems that the new shoes have taken the lesser quality lower price point approach to keep up with that end of the market. My recent purchase was just fine. Easy transaction fast turnaround but the shoe is just not the same quality that has kept me coming back year after year. It looks like I will have to give Allen Edmunds a try to get the quality of shoe that I am looking for.
