Cute shoe, but runs big

Adorable shoes and I like them so much that I have been trying to figure out how to keep them, but it just won’t work. They are comfortable, but big. I am a true size 7 1/2 M, but they fit very wide, so much that even with the strap as tight as it will go that they flop. Also, the strap only has 3 holes, so not many options to tighten/loosen. I also tried a foot pad, but doesn’t work too well with a sling back shoe. Disappointing, because the shoe is so cute!! I think if I go to a size 7 it would be too short in the length
