These are '$15 bottle of red glass with dinner and TV because I have young children and dogs' - and they are great. Good size (undersized compared to most larger wine glasses), suitable for reds and whites. Sturdy feel, easy to clean. The base is not super large but I've never had a problem setting it down. Haven't broken one yet.

But on the other hand, when I just want something small to drink in the middle of the night, or when I just want to taste something, I have to use a big glass, and it’s a waste.
