Very thin, no weight to them whatsoever and they let in a LOT of light. Mild weather so can't speak to their protection in that regard but I don't have a lot of faith in that regard. They look as pictured, and I'm going to keep them only because they go with my decor, but I'm definitely going to need to add fabric behind them & some weights at the bottom hemline. At this rate I could have just sewn my own. Glad I got them during the 4th of July sale. Not worth it at full price!

I don’t know on what planet these could be considered blackout curtains. Most that I have seen have a special blackout lining. These do not. They are a single layer. The attached photo shows how they looked at 6am. That’s soft, early morning light, not strong afternoon. And that’s with a shade behind it! The curtains are pretty and color well represented by the listing. The face is smooth like satin. They do snag pretty easily though. They hang ok but if they are like mine and not quite reaching the floor, could probably benefit from some weights on the hem to make them hang better. Again, pretty but if you need actual blackout curtains, these are not them! The 5 star reviews were all incentivized, of course.

I choose these for their darkening properties because her bedroom window brings a lot of heat in. These were exactly the color I expected and the quality was really nice. No issues with seams (like cheaper brands) and they definitely lowered the heat in the room.

Straight out of the package they were so high quality and soft, my kids wanted to use them as a blanket! Initially I put them up in my living room, but after seeing exactly how much light they cut out I moved them to the kids' room. We have really bright street lights that glare directly into our living room and the kids' room, so these curtains are perfect for helping the kids go to sleep at night (well, a mother can dream, right?). Definitely worth it if you have little ones!

We had blinds in there and even covered the window in cardboard but that particular room was just always stuffy and HOT. We finally got these room darkening curtains for that room and the change is amazing! I will admit that at first glance, it still seemed like a good bit of light was getting through. But within just a few hours, the temperature change in the room was noticeable. The room is comfortable now, even without a fan going (which was a necessity before). These curtains have made such a big difference and made the room so much more welcoming to our guests.
