Let’s just say I read the whole series in a short time. So much going on with all the characters. I was stunned at the end I didn’t see it coming. But everything tied together. Has quite a bit of dirty scenes. ♥️

Love the angst!!
I love this book!!! The angst is high. It is spicier than I anticipated for a young adult read (which is a good and bad thing). I can not wait for the last installment.

I really liked it
I really enjoyed the book. The passion between Wrath and Emilia was great. The downside of the book for me was that Emilia's stubborn and obnoxiousness was amplified 10 fold and it was hard to get past it. She was likeable but I did enjoy their relationship again. I just wish she would get over herself and stop being so annoying. Also, the feministic like undertone in certain stuff kind of had me annoyed because she had too much audacity acting a certain way in Wrath's house. Other than that it was really good.

Another great twist
While reading Kingdom of the Cursed, which I also opted to listen to, I realized just how much time is spent on describing stuff and things, which also was the case for KOTW, but I hadn’t addressed in that review. It’s kind of an old fashioned technique to take so long with scene descriptions, but it wasn’t pages and pages on grass, although it still felt tedious. Emilia basically does not learn from her experiences; she still questions whether people who have lied to her have lied more, which is a no-brainer really. She can be a little too trusting. But I definitely like the plot of KOTC better than KOTW, it felt like more was happening, more action, more intrigue, more story. I also figured out why KOTW, and subsequently KOTC, felt jumpy to me, why I was “missing things:” Emilia often discloses actions in the past tense instead of a scene being written out by Maniscalco. I like that technique when authors use it to surprise the reader with an action by the main character, but in KOTW and KOTC it felt more like lazy writing and, as mentioned, gave me the feeling I was missing things in the story, when really they just weren’t there to begin with. In the end, I give KOTC four stars.

One of the best series I’ve read.
Just as good as the first book. Kept me on edge and wanting to read more from the very beginning. Absolutely loved it and would recommend it. Don’t read if you are uncomfortable with certain religious views.
