This is my third Alvar

I love this bag; this is my third one. It has several compartments and is great both for every day and for travel. It’s just large enough to carry larger items but not too large. Strap adjusts for cross body, shoulder and shorter. Washable material and is very durable.

Kipling Alvar Crossbody Bag

I do like the Kipling bag, I already have one in black and thought the gray would be nice for warmer weather. Unfortunately it arrived in a box so small that it was folded and stuffed into the box so it would fit. The material was destroyed as it was all creased and folded. I have returned the pocketbook for a refund.

Poorer quality compared to my other Alvar

Over the years I brought many Kipling bags, for different purposes. Among them Alvar is my #1 favorite. I have many. Slim, close to the body, yet roomy and easy to find what I need to fish out. But this latest is a disappointment. Same design, but much inferior craftsmanship. AND no attached key chain in the rear compartment. Talking about cutting corners, are we? I also suspect this particular bag sent to me was once a reject by its previous purchaser. I probably will buy another Alvar again if I come across a good color, nice fabric. But I am not happy about this bag. I would love to have a replacement of the same quality as my older ones.

Love it!

My husband bought me this exact bag 10 years ago. (Gray quilted fabric). It’s my to-go purse when I go to d movies or travel. I use it as a crossbag so that both hands/arms are always free yet secured to my body so that I don’t need to worry about d straps falling off my shoulders. There’s so many zippers and pockets yet it’s not bulky. Anyway, I FINALLY got another one in black to coordinate with what I’m wearing. Love it!
