Please provide an all metal version
I have had my kitchenaid mixer for many years. This attachment was very disappointing. Cheap plastic and nowhere near the quality of the mixer itself. Do not dry to grate hard cheeses and even soft cheeses slowed it way down. Please return to an all metal version of this attachment.

After being a slow adopter to all things Kitchen Aid, I have used my food prep slicer endlessly - makes food prep so quick and it’s easy to clean.

Garbage.
Horrible. Plastic chute breaks every single time I use this. Gorilla glue wont hold anymore. Total waste of money!!! So disappointed

Kitchen Aid First Choice
Kitchen Aid has been my first choice of both large and small appliances for many of my 83 years, and have never been disappointed until I received this slicer/shreder from my sons as a gift. If appears others have had the problem with the plastic top loader cup breaking off, as mine did shortly after receiving it, then the latch lock stopped keeping the grater/slicer in place & would not lock it in, so I had to try and hold it in with a butter knife with one hand while holding the detached top loader in place with the other (quite a trick for an unsteady hand). Rather than complain, I should have known better, but bought a cheap flimsy smaller rendition online which worked ONE TIME and the entire thing cracked & fell apart. I now have shredder/slicer inserts and only need the main white attachment that holds them. Do you sell that part by itself? Trying to downsize

Broke after a few uses
I got this for my birthday in April and after using it a few times, the clear silo part broke off. It works so well and i was so excited to have it since i shred the cheese for my homemade pizzas! I still use it but it’s difficult as i have to keep pressure on it and i feel like it’s starts to take a toll on my mixer as well😏

Glued plastic pieces came apart
Extremely cheaply made product. It broke where the clear plastic and white plastic are GLUED together. I take very good care of my accessories, have always been gentle with it and always hand wash. I didn’t get very much use out of it and honestly the spot that it came apart wouldn’t take that much stress for it to have come apart anyway!

Not durable/ potentially dangerous
I bought this attachment to replace the former hard plastic slicer/shredder which I used for about 20 years. It was a wonderful attachment and my go-to for shredding cheese, chocolate bars and carrots. I’ve been using this newer style shredder/slicer for a little over a year. While in-use, the clear feed chute broke off from the white housing while the blade was turning. I’m still wondering how in the world I didn’t end up with mangled fingers. The housing has always been hand-washed. I expected better durability from this brand. I have attempted to use the chat feature 4 times to inquire if the unit was faulty. Sorry to have to leave a negative public review but the way it broke could’ve resulted in an ER visit.

Plastic cylinder broke
My husband bought me this for Mother’s Day this year and I’ve been using it for shredding cheese for my sourdough cheez its! It made it so easy! Today the plastic tube broke from the base and after looking at the reviews it looks like I can’t fix it or use the warranty to replace it! Ugh very frustrating.
