Warm winter coat
I bought it mainly so I would be warm while walking my neighbor dogs as my previous coat was worn out. The coat is really warm and has nice features like extra pockets to carry bags, dog treats, tissue and my cell phone. The hood works very well and helps keep my neck warm in the cold wind. I ordered a ST and it fits very well especially as I have long arms.

Great coat, terrible hood
Love the coat, great for being outdoors, however…the hood is ridiculous. Its insane how big it is with the huge fur trim. The hood is useless , you cant wear it properly.

Coat farts!
I bought this in Jan 22 so this is my 3rd winter. It is warm and perfect in Northern NY where we sometimes have temps in the negative degrees and snow blizzards with lake effect snow. It has held up and has no tears - still in perfect condition. However, there is one problem with it; if the coat is zipped up (which of course you’d want to do when it’s -25 degrees out) it makes an embarrassing sound when you sit down. Getting into my car, coming inside from outdoor and taking a seat (like at a basketball game in the bleachers) or anywhere else, there’s a loud farting sound as air gets trapped in the coat and then released. It’s so embarrassing I no longer zip up the coat but walk around with it unzipped. I’m now looking to buy another coat from a different company. So, nice warm coat but may come with some embarrassing sound effects.

Teacher and Wisconsin winter approved!
I'm a teacher in Wisconsin and ride the bus so I'm outside alot! Recess without a decent jacket is a teacher's worst nightmare. Not with this bad boy! I've also received so many compliments from the color, endless pockets to length. 5'10, 130 lbs. I'm on the more Petit but tall side so have to synch it in, but whatever

Great new features but caring for the hood is hard
I just received this coat and it does have a lot of extra features at the previous version did not have. I love the cuffs, inside pockets, zipper lower pockets, length, and the poly/nylon YKK zipper with with pull tab (easier for us ladies with reading glasses). I am unsure about the fleece lined hood - it is warmer but creates messy hair vs the poly lining with the previous version. The coat is heavy, though. I agree with previous comments about the weight but I think that the newer features offset the increased weight. My big complaint is that that the fur collar does not zip off. Even if you hand wash ( in a basin not in the washer) the hood, the fur collar becomes a matted mess. What is the loss quality value of this with this hood then? Where is the testing that proves my point about the matted fur? How do ordinary consumers deal with this issue? I am a former apparel professional and I know that this issue would have been a big issue in many years past. I completely understand about the increasing costs of including this feature, but how do you care for the hood? Perhaps adding the fleece in the hood offsets the natural oil stains that were very apparent in the model with the poly/nylon hood? If Land's End does not include this feature, I will no longer be purchasing any items that do not have the zip feature. From reading many posts, this is one of the biggest complaints about this type of hood. Perhaps remove one or both of the the inside pockets, remove the fleece or consider a different YKK zipper to zip off the fleece (I hope that you understand my hint here in regards to the YKK zipper)? Or use a different source for the zipper if you are allowed to do so. I understand that you may have a contract with YKK to use their zippers exclusively in all of your coats, but the loss of this feature has turned me off as well of many of your customers based on reading hundreds of reviews. I rated this jacket as 1 star only because of the loss the zip feature and the fact you can not wash the hood with out destroying the quality of the fur. Sorry for any spelling mistakes

Works for Boston Winters If You Catch A Sale
I live in Boston and purchased this a year ago. It got me through the winter just fine and is plenty warm for New England weather. That being said, while functional, it's not flattering. I had hoped the pull ties around the waist would create a little bit of a figure, but I feel clunky and like Ralphie from A Christmas Story. Not exactly the look I was going for. Also, the whole around the pull ties ripped pretty early on. I'd say this is a great coat at the 50%+ discount (how I purchased), but not worth the normal price tag.

Petite is a good fit for length
I ordered Petite medium and after adjusting to the weight of this coat it fits me well (4'11") in length but, I do NOT like the color of the hood and how large it is. The hood was surely was not adjusted proportionally to the size of the coat but rather seems to be "one size fits all." And I DO NOT like the color of the "fur." It is not natural looking and has a blueish-purple shade. If a choice was available, I would have wanted natural colors of browns and tans, like so many other items they offer with "fur." The inside lining of the hood is very nice but, the hood is extremely large.
