Nice Pendant Necklace needs work

My son loves this chain, he wore it a lot between Christmas and now (6 months) but the chain has discolored however the pendant still looks new, he ended up putting it on another chain that's fully gold and enjoys the look of it. I would still recommend this pendant but I'd say the chain needs to be as good in quality.
