This may very well be the best-looking, near-accurate scale droid LEGO has produced to date. The shaping, proportions, and detail on BD-1 are spot-on, with special praise going to the head design—which includes a subtle tilt functionality that adds tons of personality and makes posing the little guy easy and fun. While the build is fantastic out of the box, I did end up modding a few small elements—specifically one of the eyes, the antenna tips and rods, and the feet—just to refine the look even further. That said, even without mods, this is a top-tier LEGO set. Whether you're a fan of the Jedi games or just a droid enthusiast, BD-1 is a must-have for your collection.

This was fun to build. It was not challenging but it still kept me interested and having fun. I like the stims and it looks nice when displayed.

"Bwoop de doo"
A couple of months ago, I let a friend play Fallen Order and Survivor start until finish on my PS5, and with my recent birthday, he got me BD. Truly an amazing companion, would sacrifice my newborn for Lego Cal minifigure. My favorite part in Survivor was when BD casually dropped a huge container on one of the bad guys

Flimsy wobbly disappointing
This set is mediocre in its design. It has some movement for posing and or play, but in the wrong ways. The “hips” can rotate, while the “knees” and “ankles” are fixed. If you move the legs in the only way they move then either the feet hit each other, or it falls down. The head is so top heavy, making it very unbalanced. Maybe it’s ok as a display piece that is never touched. Certainly not playable for kids. The set does not capture the character at all. A light brick for the eye would have been an easy addition to make it come alive.

BD! A Stim!
This set is a straight up delight. I feel like I’m going to be having secret holo messages play as I go about my life now. The initial build of the legs/feet gets a little tricky, so making sure you’ve got the technic pieces in the right places or you’ll be taking things apart. Also, I had to after completing the head take apart the stim slider and reassemble it as it was only opening a third of the way and I couldn’t get the into their place until doing so. Overall this set looks amazing, and was fun to see how it came together. Great work, LEGO!
