Beautiful but delicate.

Beautiful special occasion or dessert glasses. I bought these to replace my current everyday stemmed glassware that I have broken several of after 25 years of use. These are a little thin to hold up to everyday use, and reminded me of the old fashioned soda fountain glasses (although not nearly as thick.) These were returned.

lovely

the palest tinge of pink. I had trouble getting the scale of these glasses, especially the "short" glasses, so here is a picture of a place setting. The plate is French perle groove bluebell, the stainless is French perle; tablecloth is French perle charm.

Nice, but a couple of things to know.

As another review says, these do have some (very!) tiny bubbles; I wouldn't say "a lot." (They're glass, after all. ). They are not really noticeable except on very close examination. I hadn't noticed them until I re-read the review and looked for them (and I had washed them by hand and dried them carefully.) They also do have a faint pinkish tinge that is most noticeable next to truly colorless glass/crystal. I was looking for that because I remembered that from this review, but I wouldn't have missed this (like I did the bubbles.) It makes them maybe not quite as formal as perfectly colorless glass would be, but that is consistent with the "French country" style of French Perle overall. I have French perle in a lot of colors and this looks fine with them. The price on these -- if you catch them on a sale especially -- is great. I hope I'll be able to get matching wineglasses! Don't know if you can see the pink tinge In this photo -- that other glass is Lenox Debut crystal. Look @ the bases against the white paper. The pink is more noticeable than it shows, but as you can see, it's faint. I tried to get a picture of bubbles, but could not--they are really tiny!!!
