I recently purchased a painting from Macy’s online store, anticipating a smooth transaction and the arrival of a piece that would add beauty to my home. Unfortunately, what followed was a series of disappointments that have significantly affected my view of shopping online with Macy’s. Firstly, the item I received was not the painting I ordered. Mistakes happen, but it’s the handling of such errors that distinguishes great customer service from the rest. Regrettably, Macy’s process for rectifying this mistake was anything but smooth. The return process was cumbersome and far from user-friendly. I encountered numerous obstacles, although I generated a QR code on their online return portal there was a lack of clear guidance for personnel to process the return efficiently. The absence of straightforward, prompt customer service support compounded the frustration, leaving me feeling neglected as a customer.
