Short stories that were disappointing
While I enjoy Hazelwood’s work, these three short stories were not among work of hers I would consider myself to have enjoyed

Predictable but funny
The narration was witty and made up for very predictable plot lines. Good for a casual read.

Do Not Buy
Honestly, they’re just not worth it.

A nice read.
Prior to reading this book I read Love On The Brain & The Love Hypothesis and if you've read either one or both of those, I think it's safe to say that you can skip this one. The plot in these books are really all the same and that's not saying they're bad, but it's very repetitive. All the main characters are the exact same and the female characters are as well with a little bit of personality twists thrown in. Cute stories but the premise of them is something that has been done in her books before.

Short, Sweet Novellas with Ali Hazelwood’s touch
“Under One Roof” (1st novella) : 3 rating/2 spice Mara Floyd and Liam Harding were the complete opposites from each other. Mara, a recent graduate with a degree in environmental engineering was all eager to start her new job and move into the house her old mentor left to her in D.C. Liam Harding was a lawyer who worked with companies that focused on Oil, and essentially everything that Mara was against. With Mara and Liam being different from one another, you’re probably wondering how they ended up meeting and the point of this novella was? Well turns out both Mara and Liam each owned the house that Mara was moving into. With both of them unwilling to move out and wanting to claim the whole house for themselves, it seemed like the two were going to be roommates and it wasn’t going to be easy to get along with each other. With the forced proximity/ being roommates, both Mara and Liam were forced to cohabitate in the house they owned. With Helena (Mara’s mentor & Liam’s aunt) leaving half of the house to Mara, Mara thought she would have the whole house to herself, but that didn’t happen as Liam owned half the house as well. Initially there was tension and a little bit of animosity between the two, but then was quickly resolved as Mara and Liam called a truce. Once Mara and Liam were on good terms, it seemed like they were on the up and up of becoming more comfortable around each other from watching, “The Bachelorette” together and having meals. Mara and Liam were both smart people, but even they were clueless that they each had deeper feelings for one another. Mara and Liam were cute together, especially towards the end once they finally admitted they liked one another, it was clear Mara wasn’t moving out. Little, tiny spice at the end, and of course the epilogue was sweet in that Mara and Liam were very much still going strong and living together in harmony, while going over their grocery list haha. “Stuck With You”(2nd Novella): 4 rating/2-3 spice Sadie was all about finding better ways for the environment, especially considering she worked for a small firm in New York that specialized in environmental conscious designs in buildings and more. There were other firms that worked in the same building such as, ProBld, where Erik Nowak worked. What was suppose to be an easy way out of the building, ended up the worst possible scenario for Sadie when she and Erik got stuck in the elevator together. The novella went from past and present illustrating how Sadie and Erik met, and overall what seemed like the beginning of a happy relationship… but according to Sadie in the present as she was stuck in the elevator with Erik, something happened which led her hating Erik now. Told through Sadie’s perspective both from the past and present was good since it allowed for me to see the change in how Sadie and Erik went from seemingly close to now distant. In the past chapters, I thought the way Sadie and Erik were together was sweet and the sparks were natural between them. Then the chapters told in the present weren’t anything like previously. Whereas now, Sadie didn’t trust Erik, and Erik seemed to care very much about Sadie. There was a bit of the miscommunication trope so there was a bit of a misunderstanding in terms of Erik assuming why Sadie started avoiding him/ not speaking to him. Sadie and Erik had a bit of a miscommunication/ misunderstanding with what went down in terms of their work clashing with their blooming romance, but in the end they cleared things up. The ending and epilogue were cute and little steamy, and just showed the happiness radiating between Erik and Sadie, and of course we can’t forget about the croissants. “Below Zero” (novella 3): 4 rating/2-3 spice Hannah Arroyo wasn’t like other NASA enthusiasts in that she had always known she wanted to pursue a career in working for NASA, but after many years of hard work, studying, and absorbing any information she could get her hands on regarding mission Curiosity or about Mars, Hannah did it. Newly employed at NASA, Hannah was ready to start her new job and think about all the possible projects she would work on. The last thing or someone Hannah thought she’d find on her first day would be, Ian Floyd. Right away, when I read Ian Floyd, my mind was wondering, “what a minute… by any chance could he be related to Mara?” And what do you know? Turns out Ian was actually Mara’s cousin. Similar to Sadie and Erik’s story, Hannah’s story was told in past and present, and what led to Hannah finding Ian on her first day at NASA. Back when Hannah was a student, she needed to interview someone for her class with Helena Harding (Mara’s mentor) and not knowing who to interview, Mara suggested to Hannah that she could interview her Ian, her cousin. What was suppose to be a straightforward interview turned into Hannah melting away Ian’s stoic personality and revealing his quiet and sweet personality underneath. Ian and Hannah quickly had natural chemistry and I loved seeing the moments when Ian was more enthralled by Hannah’s intelligence and conversation. Ian initially seemed very serious and stoic, but within the course of hours spent talking and hanging out with Hannah, it was clear he was clearly attracted to her and wanted more. Whereas Hannah, was more about a casual hookup since according to her, she wasn’t “emotionally available” and kept people at a distance. Based on the past chapter, it was clear that Ian and Hannah had great chemistry, but with each of them wanting different things, they went their own ways… until Ian and Hannah came back into each other’s lives at work. Five years in the making and finally after all that time, Hannah and Ian got their chance to reunite and be together. Hannah and Ian were great together and I loved how Ian not only came to Hannah’s rescue, but it was clear that he cared about her deeply even over the years they were apart. Of course, Mara, Sadie, Liam, and Erik also appearing was a nice touch. The epilogue was sweet in seeing the work Hannah and Ian achieved, as well as their kiss making the front page. Overall, all the novellas were sweet, bit funny, lovable characters, and mixed in with Ali Hazelwood’s amazing women in S.T.E.M. I liked each of the main characters for the novellas, and a part of me would have loved to have read each of their novellas as actual books to really dig deeper in their storylines, but being that they were novellas it was short and sweet which I still loved. The bonus chapters were also short and sweet, but gave little glimpses as to how Mara Liam, Sadie, Erik, Hannah, and Liam all ended up past their respective stories. Genuinely loved how all the characters formed a close knit group, and had fun reading these novellas.
