Must-read Book of the Year!

Mama Bear Apologetics has done it again! This book provides a priceless resource for navigating and teaching our children to live out God's design in our new cultural reality. The world is rapidly changing and it will take our children with it if we don't educate and equip ourselves and our children to recognize and stand against the tide. Christians have been silent far too long on all aspects of sexuality and what God calls us to live out as His people. I had so many eye-opening moments reading this book for myself and my children. The information is thoroughly researched, complied and presented in a way that makes it accessible to everyone and will be something I both discuss with and have my children read as they mature and start to make decisions. Praise God for this book and it's timely appearance, it's sure to become a staple for those who want to raise their children to trust and follow Jesus.

Couldn’t stop reading!

This book is, hands down, a must have on your shelf. The title says mama-bear, but I would say that there is a mama bear in all of us and that whether you have children or not, or maybe you’re a papa bear: this book will benefit you. The world we are living in now is far from the one we grew up in. Rather than being blissfully unaware of the new cultural norms, or perhaps choosing to look the other way, this “guide to sexuality” will equip you to navigate these tumultuous waters with the grace and peace of the gospel. The authors navigate the topics that we’d rather skirt around, but they do it with just enough humor that we aren’t left feeling awkward. Sigh of relief. Read this book. You’ll highlight the whole thing. Buy this book for your friend. Buy this book for all of your friends. It’s that good.

Timely read on current social issues

This is a fantastic read! The authors present the Biblical view for s e x and gender with such compassion and clarity. I definitely feel more equipped as a mother on how to discuss these sensitive topics with my children. This book was written at the perfect time as we face these topics head on in our culture. The authors show so much grace for those, Christian or not, who struggle with gender and sexuality issues and those who have been hurt by the church. It is excellently written and I highly recommend it. I’m ready to read it again!

This is the Talk Parents should be having!

Navigating life as a Christian in our increasingly se><ualized culture is already like tiptoeing through a minefield, but doing it as a parent, grandparent, teacher, or favorite aunt can often leave us feeling out of our depth and a little lost. How do we answer the tough questions about se><, gender, marriage, se><uality, and more with grace and truth? By reading this book, for starters! This is the SE>< TALK Christian parents should be having with their kids (or even with themselves!) This book handles just about every possible question on this topic from the perspective of a Christian worldview. Each topic is exhaustively researched using both Christian and secular sources. And each chapter is an absolute wealth of information without feeling overwhelming for busy mama and papa bears. Plus, this book does what few Christian resources have done well, it gracefully speaks the truth about se><uality and identity in a way that honors each person as a unique image bearer of God. Mama Bear Apologetics teaches us to think Biblically about each aspect of se><, gender, identity, and se><uality so that we are equipped to glorify God and follow Him as believers and raise the next generation to do the same. I honestly had a really challenging time reviewing this book because it is so good that I had a hard time focusing on just a few things to share. As I read, each chapter was my new favorite. I struggled to choose even a few best quotes because I just wanted to highlight whole pages. Never before have I seen such a well-organized and grace-filled treatment of such a difficult topic. The book outlines God's design and purpose for our bodies in such a beautiful way. I wish all parents would give their kids THIS TALK. Even as a middle-aged adult, so much of this book helped me walk through my own brokenness regarding these issues and start to reframe my ideas in healthier ways. I wish I could order copies for everyone in my life. It's that good and that important. Seriously, buy two. You're going to want to read it with a friend (or ten) and discuss it!

Helps Equip Us as Parents

This is a hard topic that most tend to avoid or just find it too uncomfortable to discuss at length. However, with all the confusion and pressures being thrown on our kids from our culture we cannot be passive and sit idly by. Mama Bear Apologetics Guide to Sexuality tackles the things that are being taught to our kids in schools, informs us as parents to what the culture’s agenda is for our kids, and how to talk with our kids about these hard topics. It’s become not a if, but a when our kids will have questions and as parents we needs to be educated, with the foundation of God’s Word. This won’t be an easy read, but it is a necessary one.

A Must-Read!!

I have never heard "the talk" framed the way this book does it.  I mean... wow. Seriously. Growing up, I knew the basic "save it for marriage," and that was about it. When I first encountered temptation, confusion started setting in. Confusion, rationalization, and justification. I truly wanted to honor Christ, I really did. And I would feel guilty every time I messed up. But even then, I questioned why I felt guilty. I really didn't get it. I couldn't find a Bible verse that spelled it out clearly, like "how far is too far?" and all those questions. Especially when I was engaged, the wait till marriage thing made NO sense to me at all. Had I read this book back then, man this would've helped like, a LOT.
