I honestly couldn't put this book down despite my busy schedule. I took this book with me every chance I got, and I loved the follow-up with the second book. I know that it isn't for everyone but I loved it!

Amazing
Looking at the reviews, even though there was a lot of repetition, the book was still very good for me. Once I finished it, I rushed and bought the next book in the series. I bought the e-book because I couldn’t wait to get to the bookstore for the next book everyone’s opinion is different, but this book in my opinion was amazing

Not worth it
The story line it’s self isn’t bad. Normally I read a book this size in a day.. this took me a week! I was so frustrated at how the author seemed to repeat the characters personality over and over again. She’s innocent.. we get it! In the middle of a heat filled scene the author would stop for 3 pages to go on and on about it. I finished the book very reluctantly. If maybe written by someone else it would have been great.

Sizzling
I found a copy of this book in my local bookstore recently. I have never read a Maya Banks' book before I picked up MASTERED. The story is about a small-town woman named Evangeline, who moves to New York and encounters a rich businessman named Drake, who is drawn to her beauty and innocence. She doesn't know that he is part of a lifestyle that is unknown to her. Their romance runs hot and heavy, but can it be sustained? The intimate scenes are scorching hot. The author hits readers with an unexpected intimate scene in the first chapter! Banks knows how to involve the reader and get our blood pumping. The book is written well, although I didn't agree with a couple of editing choices. Drake comes off as brooding and controlling, but his Angel brings out the softie in him. Evangeline is a people pleaser, and she is likeable as a character, although some of her decisions are a little suspect. I loved Drake's bodyguards. Although Banks mentions in her Acknowledgements that there is a second book in this series, I suspect she will also write the bodyguards' stories, too. This series is called "The Enforcers." The book makes this specific Lifestyle all about intimacy. It surprised me how very little the two characters talked about this Lifestyle, the expectations, and the training. Drake demanded trust without showing her he could be trusted. It's a new relationship. Where were the safe words? Perhaps that aspect will be explored in the sequel. If you like this type of book, this will check a lot of your boxes. A good beach read. #CillasBookManiacs
