Great Dish Set

Love the colors, good quality. Mikasa makes good products that last long

Looked for years for the last dishes I would ever

I no longer have to just settle for what I could afford or what was available in a store on the day I went shopping. I took my time looking for the last dishes I ever want to buy in my life, and I wanted ones that I love. Si I was actually excited about these Mikasa dishes. I will keep everything I ordered, but they are sadly not quite as advertised. The first vegetable arrived with no packing material in the boxes and two out of three were broken and had to be returned. The replacements were packed no better but arrived intact. The finishes of the serving bowls and the platters I ordered is highly...individualized. Some might think it is inconsistent. If you are detail oriented and prefer symetrical things, these are not for you. Even if you like a quirkier product, I have one plate with a fingerprint in the glaze. No one will notice but me, and I have pottery from all over the world so it doesnt bother me much, and I also got these for a great price. I certainly would be unhappy were I paying full price for these. I expected Mikasa to be a better product in general, and I am sad to say it is not the company it was 20 or 30 years ago. The bottom line is that the glaze is mostly as advertised, and I like that each piece is somewhat unique. Still waiting for the diner services, too. So we will see how they do on the last of the orders.
