Glaze is Terrible

I had previously purchased 2 sets of these dishes and they lasted for years. I decided to repurchase 3 sets of the exact same type because I loved them so much. Well, they cheapened the glaze and now one year later my plates feel and look horrible. I will never purchase Mikasa again.

The set was beautiful when it first arrived. Less than four months later, the dinner plates are looking hazy. The guidelines say they are dishwasher and microwave safe. Apparently not! Very disappointed and would not buy again. It also appears that Macy's is no longer selling this item

Absolutely do not purchase!

This set, while beautiful, either was missing the shiny finish on some pieces (appeared matte) or it has “washed off” all together. I did not purchase these on sale and bought two sets, to say I’m disappointed is an understatement. I don’t even think they have been used for two full months and will have to be replaced. I’m sad Macy’s carries products that are such low quality now.

disappointed/horrible

I never use to give negative feedback ever, however I was super upset this time. A bought same set at Bed bath and beyond when I get married 11 years ago. I still have it, but some of the dishes broke. When I saw it after many year at Macys, I was exited to be able to complete the set again. its durability, and the fact that still look nice, pretty, like new…. Very disappointed with the new one that I get from Macys(my favorite store).I can show if able some pictures how they get stained after use it . Nothing can remove the stains. The only difference I noticed is that this set is thicker than the previous one, beside that was the same one but inferior quality. Took me time to do this review,, but with time seeing how every piece is getting ugly and ugly, I decided to review it.

Perfect for many occasions.

Just pretty dishes. Will be able to add a variety of side pieces if I decide to do that. Light weight yet sturdy. Bowls and mugs are nicely sized. Can be used for everyday or special occasions.
