I wear a size medium, but ordered a large, due to previous reviews reporting that it runs small. The dress fit like a small! Very disappointing!!! I returned it!

Runs small

I usually wear a medium or large petite but after reading the reviews, I ordered XL petite. And it's still a little snug. I got it on sale, but I don't think it is worth the original price. It fits ok. I would return it but I need a long black dress with long sleeves for a recital in a few weeks.

Not yet received!!! Getting repeated emails to rate it!?? I returned a large. I don't understand Macy's sizing!! I wear a 4 or 8 in some things, a small in others, large in a few. Why medium never works is a mystery! For this the large was more like a 6! Can't Macy's come up with a sizing scheme and get it's suppliers to use it as a standard?? It would certainly allow me to order online with confidence and curtail returns, wouldn't it! Also, don't hock me for reviews before I ever receive an item. It happens so often that it makes me less inclined to give a review at all!
