Haven't seen any changes

I have been using the Natrol Alpha Lipoic Acid Capsules 300mg now for almost a month. I have read that this is supposed to help with breakdown Carbs and increase energy. Unfortunately I have not seen the effects on either since I started. My energy level actually seems lower than before. I am more sleepy. As for the breakdown of the carbs, I have noticed that I have been gaining weight since I have started the supplement. All in all I have not seen, or felt, the benefits of this supplement.
