Painful Rubbing/Cutting

I purchased these flats in the black synthetic color and have worn them to work a handful of times. Unfortunately, I've found that these flats rub and cut painfully at the back of the ankle, on the achilles tendon area of the heel. I purchased these along with the Polly Flats, which are significantly more comfortable. If you look closely at the pictures of the back of the shoes, you may be able to see that the Barlow Flats have the inner and outer material coming together to produce a stiff back to the shoe, which is responsible for the painful rubbing and cutting. The Polly Flats, in comparison, have the outer material doubled over to produce a soft lip, which makes them much more comfortable. Unfortunately, the only way I can comfortably wear the Barlow Flats is if I swab my heel with alcohol and preemptively place a large bandage where the rubbing occurs before putting the shoes on. In the future I plan to try an adhesive heel guard applied to the shoes. For reference, I work at a university and walk around campus a fair amount on an average work day.

Cute dressy flat.

Cute, dressy flat. Fits true to size, though rubs slightly one heal (not enough to form a blister). I probably won't use these if I have to do a lot of walking as the plastic foot bed got sweaty easily, but they are great for dressing up an outfit.
