Description of Product Misleading!

When I bought this online, the description said long strap was removable. Since I don't like to wear crossbody purses, I thought that I would remove it and use the short shoulder strap. THERE IS NO WAY TO REMOVE W/O COMPLETELY DAMAGING THE PURSE! I'll have to return it!😖
