Hammered handles separate smooth stainless steel in the versatile Sambra flatware set, featuring place settings for every day and entertaining guests with the renowned craftsmanship of Oneida.
This is a beautiful flatwear set. The weight is good as well. I just started to used these in October and within 3 months, I noticed some rust on a couple of the knives. Worried about how they will look in a couple of years.
Good quality, huge-looking, but felt light. Opted for a different design.
Love this silverware bought it as a gift for my parents. Nice weight and looks modern. Don't know how it washed up yet, as it was a gift.
Let me start out by saying I love the look of this set. Second to that I am fairly disappointed in the quality. One of the knives had rust spots on the handle when it arrived and shortly after that, two forks and another knife started to show rust spots. I have owned another Oneida set that was purchased for a much lower price, I used that set for nearly 10 years with absolutely no rust problems. This Sambre set started to show defects within one month of use and I have cared for them in the same manner as my old set. The flatware is gorgeous and a nice weight, but the quality that I was expecting just isn't there.
I bought this to replace an older set of Oneida 18/10 that is over 30 yrs old. Same quality as the other. The spoons are smaller than my old set. These tablespoons are not as large making it more difficult to use for serving spoons. But given it comes with 3 larger serving spoons, I have no complaints. I recommend.
Definitely good, sturdy flatware. We wanted 18/10 as opposed to lower quality metals so we were willing to pay the price. Flatware is as pictured. So far we're happy :).
Add'l to flatware pieces I received 4 serving pcs. Lg fork, lg spoon, lg slotted spoon and sugar spoon. My serving fork was much larger than the dinner fork ref other reviewer's descrip. Salad forks are quite a bit smaller and lighter in weight than dinner forks. Teaspoons seem to be smaller than they should be compared to the rest of the set. Wish they both were a little larger. Otherwise I do like the weight and feel. The knive's seams at bottom tend to rust a little but clean up well with SS scrub pad. Overall I'm very pleased with the set. I'd give it 5 stars if the teaspoons and salad forks were a tad larger. It is beautiful and shiny and I feel confident when setting my table for a dinner party.
I am not sure why this set is not more popular at Macy's. It is a beautiful flatware set. The weight of the pieces is the same or better than some of the other 18/10 Oneida sets sold at Macy's (I know - we also have the Oneida Satin Garnet set and the Sambra set is heavier). We have used them quite a bit now and the shine does not wear off. These pieces don't scratch and have no problem undergoing a heavy wash and heated dry cycle in the dishwasher. They are also very ergonomic and easy to hold (especially for my husband, who has big hands). Finally, the design on the front is such that they don't show fingerprints - a huge plus for the OCD neat-freak, like me. A few things to consider if you are thinking of purchasing this set: First of all the description is wrong - this set comes with 12 pieces of each utensil. There are 5 serving pieces, not two. The serving fork is pretty small for a serving fork (just slighly larger than the dinner fork) and the sugar spoon looks fairly uneventful. But everything else is just right. Also, when looking at the picture of this set online, it looks like the handles are almost round in diameter. They are not - they are actually more flattened out, like your typical silverware. We were pleasantly surprised with this because they stack better than we expected. Overall - beautiful flatware set. I am really glad we found it.
