This definitely mattefies the skin but it doesn't moisturize at all. If anything, it absorbs the moisture from the skin. I have combination skin and it did not work for me. This may work for super oily skin types but for me, it didn't moisturize

I use this moisturizer every morning and really like how well it wears alone or under makeup. My skin is pretty oily, so the fact that this dries down relatively quickly is wonderful. I've been able to use a stick foundation or just concealer without seen any pilling or patchiness.

After reading the reviews I thought there would be moisturizing effects, but Original Skin made my face feel drawn and extremely dry! My skin is pretty normal so maybe it was just not compatible for some reason. I’d never use it even if it was free.

I have tried every moisturizer from Origins. This one is now my favorite for under make-up! The matte finish does not highlight my wrinkles like the other moisturizers do. When I am home and don't care whether my wrinkles are showing - my 2nd favorite is the Mega Mushroom line the serum and the Relief and Resilience.

This moisturizer is great for those with oily skin wanting to try something that is lightweight and allows for a lightweight not greasy finish! Definitely try this out but I wouldn't recommend it for anyone with dry skin as it is not the most hydrating especially when it's winter!

Macys decribe this product as formulated without silicons.. Second ingredient is Dimeticone, which is silicon type. FYI. Not everyone wants silicons on their skin-yes, they feel nice, but its a film, it doesnt let your skin breath. Macys should correct their description.

I have been using the mattifying gel on an ongoing basis for a little over a month, applying it exclusively during the daytime to give the skin a powdery effect and establish control in the T-zone and enlarged pores. The gel is very comfortable to apply, does not tighten or dry the skin, does not cause tingling and burning, the skin does not turn red with it and does not give a reaction, specifically in my case. I love that the gel goes away quickly and blends into the skin without the slightest hint of stickiness, oiliness or shine. On the contrary, the cream gives a slightly cooling effect. The finish will be powdery-matte, but with a slight glow, and the gel somehow magically understands which area needs to be matted, and which one to add a subtle and neat glow.
