Excellent design, unimpressive craftsmanship
The overall look of this lamp is excellent. The two layer multi-material shade gives it a unique property when illuminated, and the design of the uneven rings perched atop the black base with their open center gives the whole thing a very weightless look. However this lamp is brought down as on any close inspection you can see how crude the construction and finish work is. Whatever bonding process was used on the rings, whether welded/soldered or via some adhesive product, is both visible and unevenly applied. If there was a consistent bead of material bridging the gaps between the rings, or if it had been invisible leaving the rings looking as if they'd been joined by some unknown means, either choice would have been better. Whatever coating was used for the "silver leaf" was either applied poorly, applied over a poorly prepped surface, or applied in an unsuitable environment. The finish is full of bumps and other flaws where there was either dirt on the surface before it was coated, the coating itself clumped up during application, or dirt was allowed to adhere to the freshly coated surface. Overall this lamp looks great from a few feet away, but if it's sitting on a table next to you the flaws are all highly visible.

Very elegant and low profile. Perfect for a sofa table.
Easy to assemble. The circle pattern can be switched to flow left or right by loosening screw underneath. The finish, silver leaf, is a little fragile, so try not to handle it too much.

They are okay
I ordered two Riley gold leaf table lamps for a bedroom. They arrived timely and well-packaged and were easy to assemble. I was pleasantly surprised to see they arrived as right and left-handed, as that wasn't an option at ordering. The black marble bases are dull and each has just one odd light gray splotch or streak. The finish on one of the finials had some damage on one side, but it should be easy to touch up. Shades were described as fabric, but they are vinyl with thin fabric overlays. Inner shade is backed with white vinyl, outer with clear vinyl. They seem to be functional and do add some color and interest to the room. Would be improved by 3-way switches and true fabric shades.

Fabulously Beautiful
I ordered two of these awesome lamps - love them. the are packaged very well-however 1 lamp shade had a dent on the interior shade. Called up Customer Service, and no problem they are sending me a lamp shade; no hassles with having to rebox and return. This is why Lamps Plus is my "go to" for all of my lighting needs
