Do not buy this product!

I have been using various PTR cleansers over the past 25 years to deal with varying degrees of post-adolescent and adult acne. This product was meant to be a viable replacement for the 3% Glycolic Solutions Cleanser that - very sadly - was discontinued around 2022. This product is absolutely not a viable replacement for the 3% Glycolic Solutions Cleanser (which I used for many years & it was a miracle-working face-saver for me). I have tried it over the past 6-12 months and it simply is not nearly up to the quality and effectiveness I expect from a PTR product at the price level of PTR products. This product strips the skin without cleansing it appropriately - it's like all of the really good & effective ingredients have been removed & replaced with low-grade dish detergent. And my dish detergent smells about ten times better than this stuff too! Did some cost-cutting accountant get let loose in the lab one weekend, and this was what they cooked up in order to save costs? If PTR were smart, they would ditch this product and bring back the "3% Glycolic Solutions Cleanser" ASAP!

why would you change and not inform

I would never have guessed they would change formula and not change packaging. Shame on you PR The original , which I thought I was purchasing was perfect… now I must return and look for a replacement

2 things can be true at the same time

I’m sure the re-formulation happened because of previous reviews with people saying it was too strong, however the original a holy grail for a lot of people(myself included). They should bring back the original and keep this one to meet everyone’s skin concerns.

Fabulous! Dr. Recommended

After using prescription tret, sulfur washes, all of the other washes out there, I wanted something for my face to exfoliate so my dermatologist recommended I try this. You have to keep using this product in order to see its full benefits btw but it is strong so I use it about every two days and in between I use cereve cream to foam or the moisturizing cleanser. I also have my 15 year old daughter use it and it has changed her skin - it looks brighter and clearer but it doesn't take away or prevent her acne (forehead only). For me my skin has also gotten brighter and considerably softer - the exfoliation is working. But I'd also recommend a good heavy moisturizer at night and a lighter one during the day under your spf.
