Thick but not too thick

I love using this cream on a daily basis. It’s not too thick and perfect under my everyday make up. I personally really like the smell because it’s very fresh but light.

An improvement to the classic

I’ve been using the Philosophy Hope in a Jar Smooth-Glow Multi-Tasking Moisturizer for a couple of weeks now, and it’s been a good addition to my routine. The texture is creamy but still feels lightweight, and it melts into my skin without leaving a greasy film. It layers well under makeup and gives me that smooth, slightly dewy finish I look for. One of the main things I noticed is the hydration. It really does deliver long-lasting moisture, and my skin feels comfortable throughout the day. Philosophy uses an enhanced hyaluronic acid in this formula, and I can tell the difference compared to basic moisturizers I’ve tried. On top of that, it has 2% glycolic acid, which gives a very gentle exfoliation. My skin looked a little clearer and brighter after the first week, and I didn’t have any irritation or tingling, which is usually my concern with acids. The brightening ingredients are a nice touch too. There’s a radiance complex with pro-vitamin P and tangerine peel extract, and I’ve noticed my skin looks more luminous overall. It’s not an intense glow, but more of a natural, healthy brightness. That said, I can see why longtime fans of the original Hope in a Jar might not love this as much. It doesn’t have the same “bounce” to the formula, and I’ve read some reviews saying it feels sticky or caused breakouts. I personally didn’t have those issues, but I do miss the simplicity of the original. For me, the pros outweigh the cons: • Texture: Creamy, fresh, and lightweight. • Hydration: Deep, lasting comfort. • Renewal: Gentle exfoliation that smooths without irritation. • Radiance: Subtle glow and brighter tone. • Everyday Use: Works great under makeup. Overall, I’d recommend this moisturizer if you want one product that hydrates, smooths, and brightens all at once. It’s not exactly the same as the original cult classic, but on its own, it delivers noticeable results and leaves my skin soft, refreshed, and radiant.

Good moisturizer and sunscreen

A little goes along way. If you use too much it takes a little longer to rub in. Does not leave a white cast and worked great underneath my makeup. Stood up in the Jamaican heat on my vacation. Does not have a weird scent and would definitely recommend this product.

Delicate and effective

So I’ve been using this for 2 weeks and I love it! It’s creamy, absorbs quickly, doesn’t leave that sticky feeling, and the fragrance is delicate. The SPF is enough for daily errands but would still need more if you’re going to be outdoors! The packaging is the same packaging they always use for philosophy

Good, but a little greasy

I always get a little nervous trying a new moisturizer, as my skin is a bit sensitive. To help prevent irritation, I've gone back and forth between using this moisturizer & my old one for about 2 weeks now. I normally would have totally switched over by now, but I've not been 100% sold on the philosophy moisturizer. It has a light floral scent to it and is a bit greasy, whether I use it with a sunscreen or without. It's also thicker than I prefer a moisturizer to be. I've noticed my skin has been more red and textured than normal (even where I've never previously had issues), and while I can't definitively say it's because of this moisturizer, I would wager that it is. A little goes a long way, though, so you definitely won't need to repurchase often. I also like the heavy glass jar that it comes in & the cute packaging, but prefer when you don't have to scoop the product out with your finger, as I feel that this just makes the product even more greasy over time. Overall, I do prefer my other moisturizers better, especially for the cost.

Awesome sunscreen face moisturizing cream for sens

This is definitely very moisturizing and I’d almost categorize it as more of a sunscreen moisturizer since it is definitely heavier. It absolutely has that sunscreen type scent but it’s not overpowering. It is thick and it almost leaves a subtle sheen but nothing super noticeable. I am all about skin protection so I am totally okay with it. I’ve worn it daily and I haven’t gotten burnt on my face and it lasts through humidity sweat and getting rained on and being in the pool. I’ll take that as a win. I had it on in super strong sun too. I really like this and will definitely continue to use and plan to take it on a beach trip coming up. Highly recommend!

Not for oily/acne prone skin

Skin type: I have combination skin. My T-zone area is oily. I wanted to love this spf moisturizer the moment I tested it on my hand. The glow and hydrated feeling on my hand was beautiful. Most importantly, there was no white cast. There is no crazy scent and applying it is easy. Since my hand didn't have any negative reactions to the spf, I applied it on my face. This was a terrible mistake. My face was fine for a couple hours and my eyes didn't sting from the spf moisturizer. It was until I cleansed my face that I noticed small bumps on my cheeks, nose, and forehead. Those small bumps weren't on my face in the morning before application. Meaning this product is not for acne prone skin. Some of those bumps on my cheeks are now red stubborn pimples. Funny thing is I let my mom test it on her face too but she did not have any negative reactions. Her skin glowed and no break outs occurred. In the end, my mom loved the product and has been using it everyday. If you have oily, sensitive, or acne prone skin stay away from this product.

High hopes

I absolutely loved the moisturizing component of this and was thrilled that there was a built in spf. However, my skin must have not liked something in this because after applying it i would get little balls of, im assuming the product, all over my skin. I played with it to better figure out what might be causing it, but even on clean skin, I was getting little clumps of the product. Letting time pass before applying make up didnt help either. I really love the brand and everything it stands for in the world of beauty and skincare, this product just didnt work for me as well as id hoped it would. I'll still use it when im not going anywhere, but to leave the house with little balls of build up, it's a no for me.
