Outfit was two different sizes

I loved the outfit and wore it to a wedding. My only concern was the pants were too long so I hemmed them. And I bought a 22w and that is what the top and jacket were. But the slacks were a size 16. Way to small but we’re stretchy enough to wear and the jacket covered me where it was tight
