Commissions Trump Customer Service at Macy's

I bought the Polo Black gift set for my son for Christmas online at Macys.com. They had my order ready within a day. That's okay because I'm a busy person and couldn't get there for pickup until the weekend anyway. Well, Macy's wouldn't wait that long. They cancelled my order (that's was bought and paid for since that prior Monday). I go to the store on Saturday, and they tell me it was cancelled. Cancelled? I already bought and paid for it. It was mine, right? Wrong, according to Macy's. Here's the rub: they cancelled my purchase and refunded my money because they had ran out of in-store stock and needed to get commissions on selling the product to someone else in-store. In other words, the salesman cancelled my paid for order so they could get commissions on an item that was already purchased by selling it to a different customer who came into the store. Never again will I shop Macy's. Good riddance when they finally go out of business, because this is NOT how to treat your customers.
