This back-to-school season, help provide students with literacy and mental health resources with a donation of $1 or more to Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) and National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). All donations will be split evenly between the two organizations. Donations from this partnership will go toward equipping students, educators, and parents with the tools they need to support youth literacy and mental well-being as they transition to returning to class this fall. With 1 in 6 youths experiencing a mental health condition at any given time and 34% of kindergartners lacking basic reading skills, our nation is in crisis. Reading is a critical tool to support mental well-being, but without the necessary skills, it isn’t accessible to all who need it. RIF and NAMI are both long-standing partners of Macy’s. Throughout the past 22 years, Macy’s has donated over $47 million to RIF, which has helped provide 17 million books and thousands of online reading resources to kids nationwide. Additionally, Macy’s has raised more than $2.3 million since 2022 for NAMI to support nearly 600,000 young people (ages 3-25) on their mental wellness journeys. Join us in support of RIF and NAMI, and together we can make a real difference for students heading back to school.
