Repetitive and lacking substance

Not much to this book in terms of personal development or self-help. Just constant references to NBA legends and the authors semi-egotistical anecdotes. No real linear details to follow or apparent objective. There are much better books out there in this genre.

Awful

I have heard this recommended so finally bought it. I underlined a few things at the beginning otherwise I would have tried to return it. 1. Author is egotistical, abrasive, self-centered & spends most of the book name dropping. VERY few actual details about the work ethics or discipline of the athletes which is what I was look for. Very little on mindset. 2. Basic premise- do whatever it takes to get to the top. Be selfish, be a jerk, use people, cheat on your wife(fine if you don’t get caught), be the best. Then you’ll be happy. Oh no you won’t, you’ll never be happy because there’s always more to do. Nothing is ever good enough. 3. I’m all about hard work, sacrifice, excellence, etc, but this book wasn’t even about that. Lots of rambling. Bad language. Abrasive. I threw it away. Didn’t even want to donate. I’m going back & getting The Making of aMiracle, about the 1980s hockey gold medal. That had some inspiration in it. Don’t waste your money on this book.

Blunt, direct and unique.

Sometimes when you read a book or hear someone say something that is outrageous, their statement may seem wildly out of touch but there might still be some truth to the statement. This is how I viewed Grover's assessment of a cleaner. While I don't agree with the notion that all cleaners have all the traits described, there are some traits and characteristics of cleaners that would be beneficial. I also think that there are some omitted traits of coolers that can help build a team, and that's probably because Grover views himself through the lens of being a cleaner. Overall a quick easy read that basketball fans will enjo

Total Shift in your Mindset to WIN

Everyone saying this book is repetitive or not impactful just has no purpose. This book will make you think DIFFERENT. Tim Grover has made champions and the way he decodes the mind of what it takes to be great can't be found anywhere else. If you're tired of living a mediocre life and want to start killing it in everything you do read this book. I'd give it 100/5 if I could. Business, athletics, life, doesn't matter this book applies to everything as far as how to become mentally unstoppable.
