The velocity 230IR has our patented technology of dual heating elements. Steam is produced by the built-in steam generator and not in the soleplate, which is the case for all other irons. This ensures continuous steam even at low temperatures, without spitting and leaking.

Reliable iron

Steam is great, can bypass shut-off, second one I’ve had because the first functioned really well. Only drawback is that it is heavy.

Fantastic Iron - Annoying Beeping

The iron is great, very hot, plenty of steam. I'm a quilter and I use an iron frequently. The one thing that drives me crazy is the beeping - when you turn it on, when it gets up to temp, when it's shutting itself off, etc. It's very loud and there's no option to deactivate it. I often work on projects after my husband goes to bed, but I can't use the iron. My sewing room is at the other end of the house from the bedroom, but the beeping is so loud, it wakes him up. This iron would be perfect if there was a way to stop the beeping.

Easy to use iron gives great results

Remarkably good iron. Have used it for about one month now. I actually enjoy ironing and this iron makes it easier than any iron I’ve ever used. Have to say that it irons synthetics and natural fabrics equally well, and surprisingly the lack of heat settings is no issue at all. With less time and effort results are excellent.

Great iron

This is my third time purchasing this iron. I really like it. The steam is constant and doesn't spit, but I especially like the ability to bypass the auto-shutoff. That is one of my main reasons for buying this iron. The only downside for me is that it is rather heavy.

Disabling Auto Shut off feature

I would like to be able to disable the auto shut off feature in an easier fashion. The sewing projects I do require me to go back and forth to the iron, and its frustrating to find it shut down. The auto shut off bypass was the major reason for my purchase. I do appreciate the no drip steam function the generator provides.

Can't go wrong with Reliable

I'm a fan of Reliable Irons. The 2301R I'm rating is a substitute buy when my 2601R was dropped & cracked and a replacement was not available. (It's being replaced by the 2701R in the spring). I would rate it 5 stars, but there is no "off" switch. I plug in my equipment to a surge protector which is not turned off. So this silly iron CHIRPS too frequently for my liking (and my husband's) and is a bit of nuisance. Other than that, I really like the separate "heater" for the steam that does prevent spewing and spraying. Very nice irons.
