Though diaries of daily life, Shaun bythell has created an endearing and cozy world for booklovers, a warm and welcome memoir of a life in books. The Bookshop in Wigtown, Scotland is a book lover s paradise, with thousands of books across nearly a mile of shelves, a real log fire, and Captain, the portly bookshop cat. Hilarious

What?! No one has reviewed Bythell’s third bookshop diary yet? Well, it’s brilliant. I reach for it (along with the first two Bookshop Diaries) when I need something delightful to improve my mood. It is a self-contained book, so it is not necessary to have read any of his other books before picking up this one, but I do recommend at least reading Confessions of a Bookseller first for the entertaining introduction to some of the characters. If you don’t already know, Mr. Bythell owns a second hand bookshop in Wigtown, Scotland and keeps a daily diary of the goings-on in his shop and town. Anyone who loves bookshops, people-watching, or has worked retail will be amused by his writings.
