I bought an electronic razor in late 90’s it worked great all these years, this new razor is not nearly as good as that old razor

Fair quality for the price
I like the convenience of a dry shave. It is affordable and the heads are compatible with my old cordless shaver. I bought the corded one because the difference in price between the replacement head and the whole shaver was just a few dollars.

R2 [model R-405] quest fulfilled
Now don't get upset with 3-stars. I was looking to replace a 20+ year old corded Norelco inherited from my dad who never threw anything away. The R2 [model R-405] has solidly met my expectations. I shave with the same consistent torque from the motor from start to finish. The built-in trimmer performs to expectations as well. In sum, the R2 is a satisfactory replacement with two notable exceptions: noise and head function. Maybe more insulation would help with the noise factor -- to a degree, annoying, but you get used to it. The function of the shaving heads was a surprise. They pivot. They do not float. While 3 pivoting heads do not compare favorably to 3 floating heads for convenience, ease of operation and quickness of shave, they do deliver a comparable shave in the end. To overcome the reduced contact of the heads as they glide over the contours of my face, I use both a twisting motion as well as the recommended swirl technique. As with any new shaver, heed the instructions and give the R2 a break-in period or you're in for razor burn. Overall, with no regrets, it's a competent replacement for my dad's old Norelco. I'm back with the brand I took to college.

Old verses new.
I purchased this razor because my old Remington was just that, OLD. I don't remember when I bought it, I believe it was in the mid to upper 70s. Model #R835. I have to say that it shaves as well as this new one. I know I take good care of it and it must have self sharpening blades. It's much smaller then this new one which I like. Maybe I've just gotten use to it. Both shave well but I like the weight and size of my old one.

Best razor I have had in years
Always run norelco and have not been satisfied with last two they did a terrible shave job. Been using my corded Remington for over a month and absolutely love it. I hate the rechargeable kind and really love the corded type. I couldn’t be happier thanks Remington.

low budget
This unit has a low cost but you get what you pay for. After many passes over the same area you still have half the whiskers left. This is not as good as a Norelco.

Works great.
Can't believe how well this cuts. Should have bought a Remington a long time ago.
