Mixed feelings

I have mixed feelings about this book. I love superheroes and post apocalypse stories, so I quite enjoyed the setting of this book. I liked Adrian, and Nova was okay. And although I read it pretty fast (for me) in about four days and I kept turning the pages wanting to know what happened next, I can’t help but feel…dissatisfied. It seemed to start out strong, and learning about Gatlon City and the Renegades really drew me in (although I felt I could’ve gone without the initial info dump before the prologue), but towards the last half or third or so of the book I was enjoying it a little less. It felt like there were no consequences for anything the main characters did and so I really felt no tension or stakes. I kept expecting Nova and/or Adrian’s secrets to come out but they never did, and the only time I really felt Nova was in danger was when they were interrogating Winston. And I wish Adrian and his relationship with his dads was fleshed out/explored a little more, as well as just his dads in general. I felt like some of the things that I liked about the book in the beginning that drew me in just weren’t there in the end? And I keep waiting for us to find out something to do with that classified file and what happened to Nova’s parents, but maybe we learn something to do with that in later books.

Amazing Storytelling

I was given the opportunity to borrow this book from a friend and said “sure” not really thinking I would be that interested in it However, I made the stupid mistake of reading the prologue right before bed and I couldn’t stop thinking about it. Thankfully the next day was a Saturday, so I had the whole day to sit down and read the book. It was amazing! Once I started reading it I couldn’t put it down! I never seemed to get bored with anything and thought the characters were outstanding I did find some things a bit confusing (maybe 2 or 3) as to how the characters got to certain places, but that was about all. The character description was amazing, and I could just picture how they looked in my head! I cannot wait to borrow the next book in the trilogy (possibly drive up to my local Barnes and Nobels a purchase them for myself, if they have them in stock) and figure out what happens the the characters that I’ve fallen in love with in under a day

Favorite book ever read!

I used to read wattpad stories since I never liked long stories nor thought I could read a real book since I never was a fast reader. But then I see a video on Tik Tok recommending this book if you like Miraculous, and me being childish and obsessed with the show, I decided to try it because of how good it sounded. Ever since, I've started reading so much and have an entire collection of books. This book made me so happy during bad days I would have at school or problems with friends. This trilogy will forever be in my heart and always the one on display. Marissa Meyers became my favorite author since and love all the books she's written, and waiting for the next. Definitely read this story if you ever get a chance. Best decision I've ever made....

Into a different world

I couldn't stop reading this book it was such a good book, makes you feel like you're in the book experiencing what the characters are feeling. I love that there are two different point of views helping us know what each main character feels instead of wondering! I just finished the whole trilogy and I a bit sad it came to an end but happy that I got an amazing opportunity to read this book :)

Don’t start if you haven’t

The series is okay. The last book wasn’t that good and felt incomplete and rushed. The second book only had a few interesting things happen. The concept is cool, but it’s overshadowed by a cringe cliche of random looks into the head of the characters thinking about how much they like each other. TLDR don’t start the series
