I enjoyed every moment of it. I got the book from Owlcrate. This month was the readalong for it. I'm glad that I subscribed to Owlcrate. If I didn't, I wouldn't have found as many wonderful books as I have. This book being one of them. This book was intense as well. I both predicted and was blown away by all the twists. There were things I predicted and things I didn't. Even the things I predicted came as a shock because it was different than what I predicted! This book is definitely worth the read. Please keep in mind that it is a bit dark. Important to Note: Contains violence. Similar To: Caraval, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children

What an adventure page by page!
What an amazing read!! I truly felt that I was in Charmant as a tourist making my way through the magical island. Each turn of the page had me on the edge of my seat, holding my breath unsure of where the adventure would take me next. For this being Lyssa Mia Smith's first book I am enthusiastic to see what this amazing writer comes out with next!

This book made my heart so happy.
The overall plot was done so well. I still have so many questions though! This is the first book to make me cry in so so long!

Best book of 2023!
I was immediately drawn to this book after reading the premise. I’ve always loved Moulin Rouge! and was incredibly intrigued by the emphasis on cousin relationships and family dynamics, as you typically don’t see that much in media. And reading this was amazing. I’m shocked that this is a debut. This became an instant favorite. While it is still early in the year, i’m confident this will end up being one of my top reads of the year!

Dazzling and Enchanting
I won an ARC copy of Revelle through a giveaway! All thoughts and opinions are my own. Revelle is an enchanting 1920s story about magic users, time travelers, and a boy who wants to figure out the mystery of his missing parents. I liked the world of Chamant and Luxe's family of circus performers. I found the characters to be charming and calculated. The magic system is unique and dazzling and easy to follow. Revelle is a stand-alone story with no loose ends. I enjoyed the romance and the dual point of view between Luxe and Jamison. What I had trouble with was the pacing. If I had put the book down at all, it'd take me a little while to pick it up again. Overall, Revelle is a great debut, and if you adore Caraval, Moulin Rouge, and Where Dreams Descend, I think you'll be fascinated by Revelle. Tropes: fake dating, forbidden romance 3.5 rounded to 4 stars

Stunning
This book is stunning. Found it on the B&N bookshelf a few days ago and was drawn in by the cover! When i saw it was a Moulin Rouge (one of my favorite stories) retelling, i was sold. I found the characters very relatable, especially Jamison. Loved the side characters as well, especially NANA!!!! Other highlights: - magic system blew my mind - Unique twists - Great world building - Easy read. Finished in a couple of sittings and couldn't put it down

Twisty plot with lovely characters. Addicting!
I hadn’t heard much about this one, which is surprising because it’s really, really good. A determined acrobat with the power to manipulate emotions makes a deal with a dangerous boy. Luxe is resilient and smart, and I loved her cousins, too. The other POV is Jamison, a boy traveling with his two best friends. One (Roger! My favorite!) is Luxe’s cousin. Jamison’s presence rattles Luxe’s arrangement with the dangerous boy, and his search for answers about his own mysterious past makes all of their stories converge in a twist I didn’t see coming. The romance was a slow build over the course of the book, and there were a few twists toward the end that also got me. Read it in two days and I’m still thinking about it!
